In one of the most bizarre tour collapses in recent memory, Portland’s Vitriol has confirmed that the project is not dead. Frontman Kyle Rasmussen has broken his silence following a high-profile “mass exodus” that saw his entire band quit mid-tour, leaving him stranded across the country.
Chaos in New York: The Exodus Explained
The drama reached a boiling point during the band’s recent North American trek. Tensions reportedly exploded in New York, leading the rest of the band to drive the tour vehicle back to Oregon, purposefully leaving Rasmussen, his partner, and their dog behind at a gas station.
Rasmussen has since pointed to a volatile cocktail of sleep deprivation and heavy substance use as the catalyst for the fracture.

While the identity of the new touring lineup has not been revealed, the announcement confirms that Rasmussen intends to keep the Vitriol name alive through the upcoming 2026 cycle.
