Canadian hardcore punk newcomers XCOMM have unveiled their latest single “Reasons”, produced by none other than Ross Robinson (Korn, Slipknot). The track also comes with a high-energy music video directed by Dean Karr (Slayer, Korn), continuing the band’s streak of high-profile collaborators. Among the band members is Revel Ian, son of Anthrax guitarist/vocalist Scott Ian.
The band shared their thoughts on the track:
“We’re not interested in recreating what used to be. ‘Reasons‘ is hardcore punk for people who viscerally live and breathe it, not just people who remember it. The song captures that feeling when everything feels like it’s collapsing but you’re still moving forward anyway. It’s the weight of expectations crushing you while you’re trying to break supersonic.”
Producer Ross Robinson also weighed in on the recording experience:
“XCOMM is the wild zone. It’s bad-ass Venice Beach kids ripping with absolute fury. I felt so alive recording this one—kids screaming, flying around the studio, laying down raw performances making their world come alive.”
XCOMM are gearing up for their debut album via Blowed Out Records, the label founded by Robinson alongside Ghostemane and Bill Armstrong. They’ll also be performing at Louder Than Life in Louisville, KY, on Friday, September 19th.
