ABYSMAL DAWN Release “Cradle Of Affliction” Music Video

Abysmal Dawn have unveiled their new single and video for “Cradle Of Affliction”, arriving ahead of their North American tour with Krisiun, Pyrexia, and Gorgatron. The California death metal veterans recently entered the studio to begin work on their sixth full-length album, with more details expected soon.

While new to fans, “Cradle Of Affliction” traces its origins back to ideas from the band’s 2020 album Phylogenesis. Frontman Charles Elliot dedicated the track to the late Tomas “Tompa” Lindberg (At The Gates), who passed away from cancer last month.

Elliot shared:

“‘Cradle of Affliction’ nods to the sound of our first record and our earlier melodic death metal influences like At The Gates. This one is for Tomas (R.I.P.) and all the fans who have continued to support Abysmal Dawn throughout our journey for more than two decades now.”

He also emphasized that no AI was involved in the song or video’s creation, directed by Robert Graves (Metallica, Abysmal Dawn):

“The music is written, played, recorded and mixed by humans. The artwork was created by a human. The music video was shot and edited by a human. We hope you come out to a show and support four of your favorite semi-humans playing death metal while you still can. Cheers!”
