A stacked lineup of metal icons has come together for a new tribute version of Accept’s classic “Fast As A Shark,” featuring members of Metallica, Pantera, Scorpions, and more as part of a larger 50th anniversary tribute project.
The track appears on the upcoming compilation ‘Teutonic Titans 1976–2026’, which will see various artists reinterpreting songs from Accept’s catalog ahead of its September 04 release. The newly released version of “Fast As A Shark” also features Wolf Hoffmann and Mark Tornillo, joined by Phil Anselmo, Kirk Hammett, Billy Sheehan, and Mikkey Dee, forming a one-off supergroup lineup.
Accept guitarist Wolf Hoffmann described the collaboration as a creative and stylistic fusion, highlighting the unusual approach taken on the recording.
“This song was so much fun! We even re-recorded the intro in a Bavarian oompah style… a friend of mine lives in Bavaria, and he was in contact with one of those traditional Bavarian woodwind outfits…”
He also emphasized the scale of the guest roster assembled for the track.
“We were lucky to get Phil Anselmo on vocals, Billy Sheehan on bass, and of course Kirk Hammett on guitar… and Mikkey Dee on drums, so that’s a pretty nice supergroup, isn’t it?”
Hammett added his own perspective on participating in the tribute:
“A real honor to pay back the great inspiration Accept had for me!”
