Actress Vera Farmiga’s Band The Yagas Release New Single “She’s Walking Down”

Vera Farmiga, best known for her roles in The Conjuring and The Departed, continues her foray into music with The Yagas, a band she fronts alongside her husband Renn Hawkey (Deadsy). Rounding out the lineup are guitarist Mark Visconti, bassist Mike Davis, and drummer Jason Bowman.

The group has just released their latest single, “She’s Walking Down”, accompanied by a music video directed by Farmiga herself. She shared the inspiration behind the song:

“I’d been reading a lot about child trafficking, which eventually entered my dreamscape. As a way to work out my fear, I decided to write a song where the protagonist from those nightmares turns the tables on her abuser and finally puts an end to everything.”

Farmiga has previously showcased her love for heavy music with live covers of Slipknot, Black Sabbath, and Iron Maiden. Fans can catch The Yagas live for the first time on March 8th at The Assembly in Kingston, NY, with Rosegold and The Hedons set to open.
