Adam Dutkiewicz Says Burn Eternal Album Is Finished But Delayed: “I’m Getting Upset That It’s Taking So Long”

Burn Eternal, the long-gestating project from Killswitch Engage guitarist Adam Dutkiewicz and former vocalist Howard Jones, is still stuck in limbo despite years of progress that suggest the debut album is essentially complete.

First teased back in 2023, the collaboration has slowly taken shape behind the scenes, with mixing reportedly finished in 2024. However, more than two years later, no music has been released publicly.

Speaking to Metal Injection, Dutkiewicz gave a candid update on the project’s stalled rollout, confirming that the album is fully finished and simply waiting on logistical decisions.

“I’m very excited for the Burn Eternal thing, man. I’m getting upset that it’s taking so long. It’s partially our management’s fault. It’s partially us talking to a lot of record companies. We were trying to hammer out a deal with the right record company to put it out. And then the style of deal, nowadays, record deals have changed so drastically because of the way revenue is made from album sales or the lack of album sales.”

He went on to explain that the record itself is fully ready for release:

“The record’s been mixed and mastered for months now. And the vinyl mastering is done. The regular record mastering is done. Now, we’re trying to source out artwork. We’re ready to go.”

Despite the delay, Dutkiewicz also confirmed that live performances are being considered, though nothing is locked in yet.

“Jones and I have talked about it. Yeah, we’re very interested in bringing it on tour, if people want it, that is. You know, the demand has to be there, obviously. But then I obviously have to find a band to play it. So there’s that part.”

For now, Burn Eternal remains complete but unreleased, with fans still waiting for the first official taste of the project.
