Former Fire From The Gods vocalist AJ Channer has issued a public statement addressing his recent arrest on a child endangerment charge, as well as renewed attention surrounding his past legal history.
It was recently reported that Channer was arrested on December 19th, 2025, in Cleveland, Tennessee, on a charge of child endangerment (8 years or less). Following the circulation of his mugshot connected to that arrest, additional scrutiny led to the resurfacing of a prior arrest from May 7th, 2024, in which Channer was charged with assault of a pregnant person. As of this writing, the outcome of the 2024 case remains unclear.
Channer was officially replaced as the vocalist of Fire From The Gods in March of 2025. Since then, he has been pursuing music independently under the solo project CHNNR, which he has continued to promote in recent weeks.
In response to the latest reports, Channer took to Facebook to address both the timing of the information becoming public and the circumstances surrounding the charges. In his statement, Channer claimed the renewed attention coincided with a band’s single release, stated that the 2024 charges had already been addressed, and said the December arrest stemmed from his recovery process and a hair analysis reflecting past substance use.
Channer wrote:
“FYI. It is unfortunate that we live in a world where a band uses the struggles of someone they used to call a friend to promote the release of their new single. The timing of the release of this information is not a coincidence.
That said, the 2024 charges have been addressed by my wife thoroughly on social media. There is no more to add. I have been in the midst of the recovery process ever since.
The new charges were triggered by someone who has no idea of what we are going through calling authorities. Because I’m in recovery and past substance use shows up in hair analysis (and substance use endangers children) those charges were laid. That is all these charges are about.
Thanks to those who have supported my recovery. I am committed to being the best person I can for my family, friends and fans. Jah Bless.”
Prior to the arrest, Channer had been actively promoting new music from CHNNR, including a December 15th, 2025 Instagram post in which he described the project as reflecting his sobriety and personal recovery. He has continued sharing messages tied to mental health and new music in the days following his arrest.
At this time, neither Fire From The Gods nor Channer’s former bandmates have publicly commented on the matter beyond Channer’s statement.

So the story you posted yesterday is complete BS. You owe the dude a redaction. Fake news agency……
Mike Freshney
In what way have they used anything to do with his charges as a way to promote their new music? What is he even talking about? I like AJ and all but I’ve not seen a single thing about him in the promotion process for FFTG new music
Mason Solimine 🤦♂️
Jonathan R. Konkel phenomenal job answering my question
Mason Solimine – Phenomenal job with your surface-level analysis.
Jonathan R. Konkel so do you actually know anything or did you just come on here to be a pretentious dick?
Mason Solimine – The evidence is in front of your eyes, but you’re refusing to see it. Think harder.

This is in fact a lie. They’ve not done this.
Sincerely,
Someone who knows them all personally.
Mason Solimine odds are it’s more in parallel rather than directly.
Aka press comes out about FFTG former vocalist, and at the same time new music comes out. Driving people to just check them out because of some temporary elevated press.
Also; I’m no expert I’m just a dude playing a dude disguised as another dude
Daniel Ottis yeah the way a music release is planned takes months of work. They didn’t pre-plan for him to get arrested or charged during the same time as their single. He’s just so narcissistic that he chooses to use that as an excuse to try to garner some sort of sympathy from people.
If they were trying to use his behavior to promote anything, the 2024 stuff + the other stuff that’s not a secret but not necessarily public would have been aired out when they replaced him.
If it were something personal and they were trying to hold him back, it would have came out when HE dropped his music.
Mason Solimine I mean yeah, truly just depends on how much effort you want to put into your release.
Once you’ve primed everything (masters, ads, music vids, etc.) it’s really a matter of just choosing when you want to release. Which doesn’t take months to decide. It can take like a day to a week to coordinate outlets from there.
I’m not a big enough fan of FFTG to even know the full scope of what is even being musically released. I’ve known about this AJ stuff for a while now while it’s been under wraps.
Point being, although it’s really a BIG stretch to use this stuff as a way to promote a new release, it’s definitely not impossible.
Daniel Ottis I know them all personally. They genuinely would never even think to do something like that. It wouldn’t cross their mind. Also, just for Spotify releases, you have to plan those 6-9 weeks out from upload to release. All of this definitely took place over to course of months. If there’s anything you can rest knowing, it’s that this claim of his is absolute bullshit.
Mason Solimine I mean you probably right. Odds are there’s simply no merit.
Spotify takes less than a week unless there’s actually something wrong with your release
Daniel Ottis it takes 6-9 weeks if you’re submitting the songs for Spotify play-listing. Which they do. Spotify requires that length of time to review the release for consideration to editorial playlists.
Mason Solimine probably more in the sense that publicly revealing AJ’s legal issues would make Myke Terry seem like a better frontman and FFTG looks better for dissing. Considering many fans have been open about preferring their stuff with AJ they could be hoping turning fans against him would make them more receptive to new FFTG
Chad Henry man, that’s just not how that band operates and he should know that. They have not slandered him in any way (even to me and I know them all personally) they just released a song because that is what bands do. The timing of news outlets reporting on him is nothing but coincidence.
Chad that makes no sense. If they were trying to turn anyone against him, it would have been when they replaced him, well over a year ago – AND they’d air the other reasons they let him go (there is definitely more to the why) AND if their goal was too hold him down and suppress him, this and everything else would have came to light when HE dropped music.
Neither of that is happening
Mason Solimine BRO! It’s public record!! He has charges from years ago and treated the band like shit waaaaay before this came to light. Why do you think they got a new singer over a year and a half ago??????? Also, FFTG has a banger(INCINERATE) hella out before this new single dropped. FFTG is holding on to a 15+year legacy and trying to trim the domestic abusive fat that is tarnishing their name. FFTG are the GOATS for putting their fans, their music, their spouses, their children and their non-violent, bad ass members first. I STAND WITH THE BAND. Not with an individual who made so many awful choices for YEARS.
Also, go listen to HUMAN by Fire From The Gods. Out now. IT FUCKING RIPS!🤘🔥
Mason Solimine he’s not in the band anymore….
Jen Clyne I’m fully aware, if you read the article, he makes a point to act like the band is using his arrest talking points as a means to promote their single. Which is untrue. That’s what my question was referring to.
Mason Solimine Rockfeed released his arrest information in the exact same post as the the new music announcement… I believe that’s what he’s referring to.
So all these other outlets ran with the charges with no context. I bet none of them will redact or add additional information to their stories.
Mikey Yaden posted his statement…
The Mosh Network I didn’t mean you guys. So.e of the others did not look up his or his wife’s statements.
How ironic lmao wouldn’t expect any less from the hardcore scene lol child abusersMedia: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=1214115827517359&set=p.1214115827517359&type=3
