New details have surfaced surrounding the quiet departure of AJ Channer from Fire From The Gods, following recent legal developments involving the former frontman.
According to public arrest records, Channer was arrested on December 19, 2025, in Cleveland, Tennessee, on a charge of child endangerment. Records also indicate that this was not his first recent arrest. On May 8, 2024, Channer was arrested in Travis County, Texas, on a charge related to assault of a pregnant person.
These developments provide additional context to Fire From The Gods’ low-profile lineup shift earlier in 2025. In March of that year, the band performed a hometown show in Austin, TX, where they revealed Myke Terry (Volumes, ex-Bury Your Dead) as their new vocalist. At the time, no official explanation was offered regarding Channer’s absence.
Shortly after that new broke, Channer’s partner, Brittan Taylor, addressed the situation on social media, framing his exit as a personal and family-focused decision. Channer fronted Fire From The Gods from their major-label debut Narrative through their 2022 album Soul Revolution.
In her statement, Taylor wrote:
“I want to say thank you to everyone reaching out to check on Channer AJ. Yes, the news is out, Fire From The Gods has a new vocalist. AJ and I have been through a lot over the past few years, and it was time to take a break and focus on family, which is exactly what he has done. I wish the guys in FFTG all the best and am looking forward to watching them continue to make music with Myke!”

The last year has shown us how much we can grow and heal together, and I am in awe of how hard AJ has fought to get healthy. I am so unbelievably proud of this man.”

As of now, Fire From The Gods have not issued a formal public statement addressing Channer’s departure or the legal matters. The band has since moved forward with Myke Terry as their vocalist, releasing new music and touring under the updated lineup.
Channer, meanwhile, appears to be focusing on his solo project CHNNR, with new material expected in the future.
