Alex Terrible, frontman of Russian deathcore unit Slaughter To Prevail, has shared that his long-running side business — producing the band’s signature “Kid Of Darkness” masks — has suffered a major setback after the building housing their manufacturing operation partially collapsed.
The custom masks, inspired by the menacing styles Terrible and his bandmates wear onstage, have been produced independently in Russia for nearly a decade. But earlier this week, part of the facility crumbled during work hours. Staff inside reportedly heard loud cracking sounds before the structure gave way.
Fortunately, no one was seriously injured, but the damage has halted production and destroyed a large portion of their inventory.
Terrible addressed the situation in a video update and written message to fans:
“Sorry for the delay guys but we have an issue. We are making everything we can to make the moving process as fast as possible. Our old building just doesn’t exist anymore so we have to start from the very beginning at the new place. Prepare everything and find money to rebuild everything for work. We know that shipping from Russia to another country sometimes takes ages but we are not Amazon. We are trying our best. This is our new chapter I guess! Thanks God everyone is alive!”
While the team scrambles to relocate and rebuild, fans with outstanding orders may experience delays — though Terrible emphasized his commitment to keeping the business alive.
