Alissa White-Gluz Unveils New Band Blue Medusa

Alissa White-Gluz has officially revealed her brand new band, Blue Medusa.

The former Arch Enemy and The Agonist vocalist has spent the past several months quietly assembling the project’s lineup. Last month, she confirmed that guitarists Alyssa Day (Mindscar / In Absentia) and Dani Sophia would be joining the band.

A touring lineup has also been put together for live performances, with bassist Alicia Vigil (DragonForce / Vigil Of War) and drummer Delaney Jaster (These Fading Visions) set to perform alongside the trio on stage.

White-Gluz shared the announcement on social media on March 8, explaining that the new project represents a major creative shift in her career.

“The year of the snake is finally over – now it’s time to shed the skin.
Today, on International Women’s Day, I’m proud to announce my new band: BLUE MEDUSA.

After twenty years performing on the world’s biggest stages, I’m entering a new creative chapter. Blue Medusa is the next evolution of everything I’ve been building toward; a project where my full artistic vision can exist without limits.”

She added that fans can expect a mix of blistering solos, crushing riffs, aggressive drumming, and deeply introspective lyrics.

White-Gluz also noted that she intentionally chose International Women’s Day for the announcement, citing her commitment to supporting women in heavy music.

“Building stronger platforms for women in heavy music is something I care deeply about. I’ve been carving my own path in this genre for a long time, and I want to help pave the road for the next generation of women who love metal as much as I do.”

The band’s name carries symbolic meaning as well.

“Medusa turned people to stone… I want to pave the road in sapphire.”

According to White-Gluz, new music from Blue Medusa will be released soon. The band has also confirmed its first live festival appearances at Louder Than Life and Aftershock Festival.
