Amon Amarth have galloped back into the spotlight with their latest single, “Eight Legs Of Thunder,” a new track drawing inspiration from Sleipnir, the legendary eight-legged horse ridden by Norse god Odin.
The Swedish melodic death metal veterans have once again tapped director Dariusz Szermanowicz, whose previous work includes videos for Behemoth and Kreator, to bring the song’s mythology to life.
This time around, the band and Szermanowicz opted for a cinematic approach that blends the world of classic westerns with Amon Amarth’s trademark Norse mythology. According to the director, the result is intended to feel more like an action-packed short film than a conventional metal video.
“With ‘Eight Legs Of Thunder,’ together with the band, we wanted to break the traditional metal music video mold once again. We fused the raw, dusty vibe of a modern western with the epic, dark mythology of Oden’s eight-legged steed. It’s a high-octane, cinematic ride packed with cowboy tension, raw action, and a touch of dark humor. We didn’t just want to make a music video—we wanted to deliver a visual knockout.”
“Eight Legs Of Thunder” will appear on Amon Amarth’s upcoming album, ‘The Allfather Awakens.’ Metal Blade Records are currently set to release the record on October 2.
