Andy Williams, the former Every Time I Die guitarist and current Atomic Rule member, was hospitalized following an apparent injury during an independent professional wrestling match on Saturday, September 5.
Williams, who wrestles professionally as The Butcher, was competing alongside his longtime tag team partner The Blade at Enjoy Wrestling’s “Five Years” event at Mr. Smalls Theatre in Millvale, Pennsylvania. The pair were competing for the Enjoy Tag Team Championship when Williams suffered the incident during the match. The event was advertised as featuring “Butcher and The Blade,” with Williams specifically identified as the former Every Time I Die guitarist.
The bout was brought to its planned conclusion, but Williams remained down on the canvas following the pinfall and was unable to stand. Paramedics subsequently entered the ring and began treating him, with emergency personnel performing chest compressions and utilizing a defibrillator before Williams was transported to a local hospital by ambulance.
Attendees at the event have also taken to Reddit to discuss what they witnessed. Those firsthand accounts remain unverified and should be treated as eyewitness reports rather than an official update on Williams’ condition.
Following the incident, Enjoy Wrestling canceled the remainder of the event.
The situation came just one day after Williams and The Blade hosted an advanced wrestling seminar for independent talent in Pittsburgh’s Allentown neighborhood.
While Williams has spent much of the past decade balancing professional wrestling with his career in music, metal fans will know him primarily as a founding member and guitarist of Every Time I Die. Following the band’s breakup, Williams continued wrestling while launching Atomic Rule, his current musical project. He has continued to maintain both careers, with his wrestling work including appearances on the independent circuit as The Butcher.
At the time of publication, there has been no official update regarding Williams’ condition following his hospitalization.

“Andy collapsed at the end of his match this evening.
Our doctors on staff tended to him immediately, administering CPR until the ambulance arrived.
We sent everyone home and are at the hospital now waiting for more information.
