Attack Attack! appear to be embracing a wild and unconventional promo campaign for their upcoming album Self Titled II, due out August 8th. In what seems to be a tongue-in-cheek rollout, a since-deleted video surfaced on May 1st featuring drummer Andrew Wetzel claiming he had taken over as frontman and recorded the band’s first new full-length since 2012’s This Means War entirely by himself.
Fans were quick to question the sincerity of the announcement, with many speculating it was a staged stunt. That theory gained more traction today (May 2nd) with the release of a new video promoting a ‘country’ single titled “Dance!”, set to drop May 9th. The clip includes a phone number for fans to call and adds to the over-the-top marketing campaign.
