Avenged Sevenfold have officially announced they are now a fully independent band after purchasing the master recordings and rights to two of their past releases.
The group revealed they have regained ownership of their 2016 album The Stage, its deluxe edition, and the live release Live at the Grammy Museum from Capitol Records. The announcement was made on May 19 via their official social media channels.
The band also confirmed that the deluxe edition of The Stage will now include their “Live from Capitol Records Rooftop” four-song performance, expanding the release following the rights acquisition.
In their statement, the band emphasized their new creative control after more than two decades in the industry, while also reminding fans that some versions of the album may need to be re-added to streaming playlists due to the change in ownership.
