Tom Morello’s upcoming Power To The People festival has added several notable names to its already stacked lineup, with members of Black Sabbath, Pearl Jam and Anthrax among the latest musicians announced for the event.
The protest-music-focused festival is scheduled for October 3 at Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, Maryland. Organizers have described the event as a non-partisan celebration of peace, justice, solidarity, music and community action.
Newly announced performers include Geezer Butler of Black Sabbath, Mike McCready of Pearl Jam, Scott Ian of Anthrax, Nathaniel Rateliff, Stephen Stills, State Radio and The Last Internationale.
The event will also feature Jack Black, who will perform alongside Roman Morello, Revel of XCOMM, Yoyoka Soma and Hugo Weiss. The group has now been given the name Jack Sabbath, having previously teamed up for a cover of Ozzy Osbourne’s “Mr. Crowley” during last year’s Back To The Beginning farewell event for Ozzy and Black Sabbath.
With Bruce Springsteen also scheduled to appear as a special guest, the current Power To The People lineup is as follows:
