Rising Connecticut metalcore outfit Balmora have announced the departure of guitarist Jay Torblaa following reported online allegations concerning inappropriate interactions with a minor.
The announcement was made via a statement shared by the remaining members of the band—vocalist Paul Cole, guitarist Colin Flynn, bassist Danny, and drummer Chaz Torok—addressing the situation and confirming Torblaa’s exit.
The band stated:
“In the past few days we’ve seen the evidence and screen shots of the behavior of our guitarist engaging with someone underage. We the other four members Danny, Paul, Colin and Chaz don’t f*ck with this at all obviously. Jay will be stepping away from the band and our summer tour will continue on as planned.”
The group also acknowledged the situation’s impact on fans and stated they are working through how to move forward while continuing scheduled live appearances.
“We’re sorry for what seems like the lack of transparency,” the band added. “Just trying to figure out how to navigate this and continue with all the shows we have booked and planned to play.”
Despite the lineup change, Balmora confirmed that all upcoming touring plans will continue, including their upcoming North American headlining run and festival appearances throughout the summer.
At the time of reporting, Jay Torblaa has not publicly responded to the allegations or the band’s statement.
