Bilmuri have unveiled their latest single, “WHERE TO FIND ME,” offering another preview of their upcoming album KINDA HARD, which arrives this Friday, April 10th via Columbia Records.
The track features a guest guitar solo from Florestan Durand of French metalcore outfit Novelists, though the collaboration didn’t come together through the usual industry connections. Instead, Durand earned the spot by winning an open call competition launched by Bilmuri mastermind Johnny Franck.
Franck previously revealed that he had struggled to land on the right lead guitar moment for the song himself, prompting him to invite fans and fellow musicians alike to submit their own solo ideas. Durand’s contribution ultimately stood out among the submissions and was selected as the official version featured on the final recording.
Alongside the song’s release, Franck also shared several of his favorite alternate submissions that narrowly missed the cut, with a few recognizable names among those who attempted their own take on the solo.
“WHERE TO FIND ME” continues the rollout for Bilmuri’s forthcoming album KINDA HARD, marking the latest chapter in Franck’s ever-evolving blend of alternative rock, pop, and heavy influences that has steadily grown the project’s audience in recent years.
