On February 23rd, influential Brooklyn, NY hardcore band Biohazard shared a historic moment with members of Onyx, the multi-platinum NYC rap group, during their performance in Dublin, Ireland. The two groups celebrated their long-standing relationship by performing a cover of Onyx’s early 90s platinum hit, “Slam.”
The bond between Biohazard and Onyx stretches back decades, with members of Biohazard appearing in the music video for “Slam.” The connection was further solidified in 1993 when the two bands teamed up for the “Slam (Bionyx Remix),” a collaboration that added a unique twist to the track.
This partnership also contributed to the iconic 1993 film soundtrack for ‘Judgment Night,’ a groundbreaking project that fused rap with metal and rock artists. Both bands contributed to the title track, and the album went on to achieve gold status, ultimately overshadowing the film itself.
