The end of an era is officially going global. The upcoming farewell performance from Black Sabbath and legendary frontman Ozzy Osbourne will be livestreamed worldwide next month. Set for July 5th at Villa Park in the band’s hometown of Birmingham, UK, the sold-out concert marks the final live appearance for the pioneering heavy metal icons.
Organized as a benefit show supporting charities handpicked by Ozzy, the event will bring together a staggering lineup of hard rock and metal royalty to honor the Rock & Roll Hall of Famers. In addition to Black Sabbath and Ozzy Osbourne performing one last time, confirmed acts include:
Metallica
Guns N’ Roses
Slayer
Tool
Pantera
Gojira
Halestorm
Alice In Chains
Lamb Of God
Anthrax
Mastodon
Rival Sons
Many of these artists are expected to incorporate covers of Sabbath and Ozzy classics into their sets.
As if the lineup wasn’t stacked enough, Tom Morello (Rage Against The Machine) will serve as musical director for a star-studded all-star jam, paying tribute to the decades-long legacy of Sabbath and Osbourne. The special segment will feature appearances from:
Andrew Watt
Billy Corgan (The Smashing Pumpkins)
Chad Smith (Red Hot Chili Peppers)
Danny Carey (Tool)
David Draiman (Disturbed)
David Ellefson (ex-Megadeth)
Duff McKagan (Guns N’ Roses)
Fred Durst (Limp Bizkit)
Lzzy Hale (Halestorm)
Jake E. Lee (Red Dragon Cartel, ex-Ozzy Osbourne)
Jonathan Davis (Korn)

Mike Bordin (Faith No More, Ozzy Osbourne)
Papa V Perpetua (Ghost)
Rudy Sarzo (Quiet Riot)

The event will be hosted by actor and metal devotee Jason Momoa (‘Aquaman’, ‘Game Of Thrones’), with Ozzy Osbourne expected to deliver a five-song solo set. The 76-year-old icon will likely perform seated, due to ongoing health battles that led to his retirement from touring several years ago.
Fans around the world can watch the livestream by grabbing tickets at backtothebeginning.com starting today, June 6th. The show will be filmed by Mercury Studios, with Sharon Osbourne commenting:
“We had such an overwhelming demand from fans from around the globe, who couldn’t get tickets to the show, and they took to social media, pleading with us to broadcast a livestream of the show. Being this is such a historic event, we just couldn’t let them down.”
