Former I Prevail vocalist Brian Burkheiser has put his recent legal complications behind him and is moving forward with his solo project SCATTERBRAIN. The singer confirmed today (February 05) that the dispute that previously delayed the rollout of his independent material has been settled, clearing the way for new music.
Burkheiser first revealed last summer that ongoing issues tied to his departure from the band had slowed progress on SCATTERBRAIN. Despite that, he launched the project publicly in December with a cover of Taylor Swift’s “Look What You Made Me Do.” Now, with the situation resolved, he’s preparing to release original material under the banner.
A new track titled “PHASES” — accompanied by a music video — is scheduled to arrive next Friday, February 13th. In a statement addressing the update, Burkheiser shared:
“I’m grateful to share that I am officially a free, independent artist, and will be releasing my own original music under the name SCATTERBRAIN.
I want to sincerely thank Fearless and Concord Records for their professionalism, respect, and support throughout a very complicated period.
Now that my legal dispute is behind me, I’m ready to share my story.
My first original song, ‘PHASES’, along with the music video, drops next Friday.”
With legal matters resolved and the project fully underway, SCATTERBRAIN’s next chapter begins with its first original release just days away.
