Calva Louise has revealed that their upcoming album, Edge Of The Abyss, will be released on July 11th through Mascot Records. To give fans a taste of what’s to come, the band has shared a new music video for the track “Aimless,” directed by frontwoman Jess Allanic, who also provides vocals and guitar for the band.
Reflecting on the meaning behind the song, Allanic shared:
“‘Aimless’ is a reflective catharsis of human communication. Sometimes, it feels like we communicate in monologues, struggling to be understood, while simultaneously questioning whether we treat others the same way. The song explores the fragility of our beliefs but also emphasizes the importance of knowing our true selves and standing firm in that truth.”
Speaking about the album title’s inspiration, Allanic added:
“Our album is called Edge of the Abyss because that’s how we live. One misstep, and everything could come crashing down. I’ve emigrated twice, experienced culture shock both times, but this time it hurts less because I know this is where I want to be. There’s no going back for me.”
