Ceiling Tiles Fall During Bad Omens Concert, Several Fans Injured

Platinum-certified alt-metal heavyweights Bad Omens literally brought the house down during their January 22nd set at Festival Hall in Melbourne, Australia.

As the band wrapped up their performance with their breakout hit “Just Pretend”, confetti cannons were launched into the air, inadvertently striking the venue’s ceiling. The impact dislodged several plaster tiles, sending them tumbling into the crowd below.

Despite the unexpected chaos, the band took the stage for a second show at the same venue the following night—this time without any ceiling-related mishaps. During the set, frontman Noah Sebastian addressed the incident, jokingly remarking:

“A moment of silence for the victims of the ceiling panels [crowd screams.] I said a moment of silence. Not a joke… shut up. No, that was serious. for real. and I’m so glad everyone is okay. That was… first of all, I didn’t see that happen, okay? I want to make that very clear. In the zone, doing my thing… was not expecting a ceiling tile to fall but, uh, I’m glad that everybody’s okay.

But! I also heard they are all here tonight: Everyone that was hit by the ceiling tile. If you were… Where my tile guys at? Was that you? Who else? Don’t start lying to get attention. You? Are you okay? [The] news it said someone was knocked unconscious, is that true? That’s true? Your friend? They’re not here?”

Following the incident, a video of the chaos surfaced but cut out before showing the full extent of the damage.

According to reports republished by Wall Of Sound, several concertgoers sustained minor injuries when the tiles fell. Attendees have claimed soft tissue damage, cuts, and bruising as a result of being struck by the debris.
