The 2026 edition of Coachella continues to spotlight heavier acts, with newly released official footage showcasing performances from across the festival’s opening weekend.
While Turnstile and Nine Inch Nails’ collaborative ‘Nine Inch Noize’ set alongside Boys Noize and Mariqueen Maandig Reznor generated major buzz, they weren’t the only artists bringing heavier sounds to Indio, CA this year.
Newly released footage highlights sets from a diverse range of acts, including Suicidal Tendencies, DRAIN, Ceremony, Fleshwater, Die Spitz, and Ecca Vandal—all of whom added a heavier edge to the traditionally genre-spanning lineup.
Also featured is footage from Black Flag, who performed with a retooled lineup led by founding guitarist Greg Ginn. The updated incarnation—comprised largely of younger members—has sparked mixed reactions from fans following its debut.
With weekend one now in the books, the second weekend of Coachella 2026 is set to kick off April 17th, continuing what has already proven to be one of the festival’s more diverse and heavy-leaning years in recent memory.
