Cold frontman Scooter Ward has confirmed that work is already underway on the band’s next studio album. Speaking in a recent interview with 96.7 KCAL-FM, Ward revealed that he’s actively writing material for what will be the alternative metal group’s seventh full-length effort — and the follow-up to 2019’s The Things We Can’t Stop.
While fans shouldn’t expect the new record until 2026, Ward assured listeners that progress is moving forward. When asked by host Radioactive MikeZ if fans can look forward to anything new next year, Ward responded:
“Yes, a hundred percent. I’m writing right now, so I’m gonna say by next summer there will be a Cold album out.”
Before the album arrives, Cold will embark on a special tour celebrating two milestones: 25 years of 13 Ways To Bleed On Stage and 20 years of A Different Kind Of Pain. Support on the trek will come from September Mourning and University Drive.

Scott Johnson Dude, look at bands like Korn.. They are still killing it and just as hard as they were in the 90s. Year of the spider still had strength in the music and the OG bassist was still writing good punchy bass lines that COLD was known for. COLD is still my favorite band of all time, I just didn’t like Superfiction or the things we cant stop.. Even a different kind of pain was meh due to terry and kelly leaving the band. They were what made them so unique with their haunting guitar sounds. To each their own, but they will never make a record as good as 13WTBOS ever again. There are still plenty of nu metal bands I still listen to that are just as good as they were in the 2000s.

Zakkary Dodds Saw them a little over a week ago and ADKOP was written after Scooter’s attempted suicide (And in Scooter’s own words the title song is about it) and thus explains the headspace in which it’s written. Not every album has to be 13 Ways To Bleed On Stage. It’s fine if you don’t like it, but going off of the concert I was at, more of us fans love it than think it’s “meh”.
Michael Detwiler I saw them in 2022 and it was one of the best shows I’ve ever been to. Scooter is an incredible singer live. ADKOP isn’t a bad album but it just lacked what I loved from the previous work. As a guitar player I really respected the insane work that the original two guitarist put into 13 ways to bleed on stage. Even slower songs like “Sick of man” still blow me away because of how creative the guitar work was. I hope the two new guitar players they have now will write some good stuff. We shall see!

The three of them have their own band that is currently opening for Cold on their tour. Saw them last month and both bands put on a good set.
Scooter still has his voice. Lindsay Mandfredi, their bassist, is a rad person and good musician. The new guys performed Cold’s best three albums in their entirety really well.
I’m hopeful for a new Cold album.
