Crown Magnetar have unleashed their latest single “Dead Crown,” with the new track arriving alongside an accompanying music video directed by Dakota Johnson.
The Colorado deathcore outfit have earmarked the song for their upcoming third studio album, ‘The Hollowing Of Godflesh,’ which is set for a September 25 release through Unique Leader Records.
Vocalist Dan Tucker offered some insight into the particularly gruesome concept behind “Dead Crown,” as well as the musical approach taken on the track:
“‘Dead Crown’ takes one of the darkest concepts on the record and turns it into one of the heaviest songs we’ve ever written. It’s centered around a crown being surgically driven into someone’s skull until it fuses with their flesh, slowly corrupting them from the inside. The riffs never let up, the drums are relentless, and the ending strips everything back into a primitive, caveman breakdown that is undoubtedly one of the heaviest moments on the record.”
“Dead Crown” is now available alongside its official music video as Crown Magnetar continue building toward the release of ‘The Hollowing Of Godflesh.’
