Curses have announced they are going on an indefinite hiatus following the departure of their drummer, Tyrsson Demarest.
The metalcore band shared the news in a statement yesterday, February 7th, explaining their decision:
“Effective immediately, Tyrsson Demarest is no longer associated with Curses. We ask that everyone please respect our privacy regarding this matter.
That being said, due to an untenable situation brought about by personal conflict within the band, we have decided it’s best to put Curses on an indefinite hiatus. We will be releasing one final song in the coming weeks.
We’d like to thank everyone for all the time spent, the moments shared, and the memories made together. It really isn’t possible to fully express how much this has meant to us over the years.
We will always cherish what you’ve given us.”
Demarest has offered a statement of his own today:
“As you all have seen, I am no longer associated with Curses, with no fault of my own. As was stated previously, please respect each individual’s privacy regarding the matter.
Thank you to everyone involved over the last couple of years. I had a wonderful time filled with great memories.”
