VindictA have signed with Napalm Records, marking a new chapter for the melodic metal outfit formed by several former members of Dogma. The band are celebrating the deal with the release of their new music video for “IDOL(L)S.”
VindictA emerged amid a highly publicized dispute between former Dogma members and the band’s management. Several ex-members subsequently joined forces to launch the rival project, which later stepped in to replace Dogma on select dates of the latter’s canceled Australian tour.
The group expressed their enthusiasm for their new partnership with Napalm Records, stating:
“We’re genuinely excited to be joining forces with Napalm Records and to have a team that believes in what we’re creating. There’s a lot behind VindictA, and we believe this alliance will provide the support to let our inner engine run at full force.”
“IDOL(L)S” serves as the opening statement of this new era, offering a glimpse into the theatrical narrative planned for the band’s forthcoming album. The group described the track’s themes as a dark, self-aware critique of society’s appetite for spectacle and entertainment.
“And so the curtain rises on the acts of a larger theatrical narrative unfolding in our upcoming album. The spectacle takes a sinister turn. In this lifeless puppet show, we distract you. With the illusion of meaning, we zombify the audience, and we become your false masters. It’s a self-ironic reflection of society, in which it hardly matters what the masters stand for, as long as the circus keeps going. So, let’s fucking entertain you.”
With a new label behind them and “IDOL(L)S” introducing the creative direction of their upcoming album, VindictA are preparing to take their next steps outside the shadow of their former band.
