Cradle Of Filth frontman Dani Filth is set to tell the story of his life and career in a new autobiography, ‘The Filth: My Life In Devilry And Debauchery’.
The book, which was co-written with author Joel McIver, is scheduled to arrive on June 5, 2027, taking readers through five decades of Dani’s life, from his childhood in Suffolk to his eventual rise as the frontman of one of extreme metal’s most recognizable bands.
Dani says the autobiography will cover his teenage years, early musical endeavors and introduction to extreme metal and hardcore punk, before chronicling the formation of Cradle Of Filth and the band’s subsequent four-decade career.
“In The Filth: My Life in Devilry and Debauchery, I’ll take you on a 50-year journey from an idyllic childhood in the witch county of Suffolk, through my tearaway teenage years of skateboarding, skulduggery and Satanic malarkey, through to my discovery of extreme metal, hardcore punk and a few mushroom-fuelled journeys into the realms of psychic chaos.”
The book promises plenty of unusual stories from throughout Dani’s career, including appearances on BBC’s Never Mind The Buzzcocks and MTV’s Viva La Bam, along with encounters involving French police, the Vatican and even an exploding tin of beans.
Dani also takes readers through some of his earliest bands, including Carnival Fruitcake, Feast On Excrement and Hash Gordon & the Drug Barons From Mars, before getting to the formation of Cradle Of Filth.
