David Draiman Says New Disturbed Material Is “Diverse, Fresh, And Powerful”

Disturbed vocalist David Draiman has offered a new update on the band’s next batch of music, teasing that fans can expect something different when the songs are eventually released.

Taking to X on May 30th, Draiman revealed that he recently revisited several of the tracks the band has been developing and came away even more enthusiastic about the material after spending time away from it.

“I’ll tell you one thing…

I’ve had a lot of time to go over these last songs we’ve written.

Took time away, came back to them, and fell in love with them all over again.

Diverse, fresh, and powerful.

It’ll be some time…but I can’t wait for these songs to see the light of day.

I think everyone will be pleasantly…surprised.”

While Draiman did not reveal a release timeline, his comments suggest that Disturbed’s next studio material is continuing to take shape behind the scenes as the band enjoys a lighter schedule than in previous years.

Earlier this year, Disturbed announced plans to scale back their touring commitments in 2026, giving the group more time to focus on writing and recording. Based on Draiman’s latest remarks, that extra downtime appears to be playing a significant role in the creative process.

Fans won’t have to wait much longer to see the band back onstage, however. Disturbed are currently scheduled for their first live performances since October 2025, with two appearances booked this summer:

Whether Draiman’s promise of fans being “pleasantly surprised” points toward a stylistic shift or simply a particularly strong collection of songs remains to be seen, but anticipation for the band’s next release is clearly building.
