Death To All will return to the road this fall for a headlining U.S. tour celebrating two pivotal albums in Death’s legendary discography: Spiritual Healing and Symbolic. The run will kick off in early November and features support from Canadian tech-death veterans Gorguts and North Dakota’s rising death metal force Phobophilic.
Death To All is made up of musicians who played with Death during its original run, including drummer Gene Hoglan (Dark Angel), bassist Steve DiGiorgio (Testament), and guitarist Bobby Koelble, along with vocalist/guitarist Max Phelps (Exist, ex-Cynic).
Gene Hoglan shared the following about the upcoming trek:
“The time has come to commemorate a couple of milestones in the Death catalog. 30 years of ‘Symbolic’ and 35 years of ‘Spiritual Healing’! Two vastly different yet very important eras of Death. Both albums are going to be a blast to represent.”
“Will ‘Spiritual Healing’ and ‘Symbolic’ be performed in their entirety like last year’s sold-out Scream of Perseverance tour? Well, everyone is going to have to catch these shows for themselves to see. Will it be an incredible night of unforgettable metal, honoring the great Chuck Schuldiner, as only Death To All can do? Of course it will. Death To All stands alone.”
Gorguts frontman Luc Lemay also commented on joining the tour:
“It’s with great honor that we’ll be sharing the stage with these death metal monuments. Death had such an important influence on me as an artist. It’s the band that made me want to become a death metal musician. Chuck was my idol, my inspiration. See you on stage. Be prepared for an evening of classic death metal!”
