DED are officially set to return on September 19th with their long-awaited new album RESENT, which will arrive via UNFD. The album marks their most personal and raw effort to date—and they’re bringing a few heavy-hitting friends along for the ride.
The newly released single “Eraser” dropped this morning with a visualizer now streaming. The 12-track album features Chad Gray (Mudvayne, HELLYEAH) on “You Want Honest?”, Danny Leal (Upon A Burning Body) on “Rise Above It All”, and Chris Motionless (Motionless In White) on the previously released “Until I Die”.

DED frontman Joe Cotela reflected on “Eraser” and the themes at the heart of the record:
“This is a universal song about reflection and being cognitive of your own bullshit. The concept of recognizing and unlearning our negative habits and attributes is a powerful thing… Having the bravery to be vulnerable and accountable with yourself and setting the ego aside to get out of our own way is paramount.”
When speaking on the album’s long journey, Cotela shared:
“Looking back at the period of time writing and recording this album is a wild thing to do, as it was recorded over the course of three years. We found ourselves stuck not being able to be active due to behind-the-scenes business shit… but we didn’t stop writing. We built our own studio—Trash Island Studios in Phoenix—and created this album entirely on our own.”
“This is the most ‘unfiltered’ DED release to come out… We got back to the roots of having fun, making heavy music that made us happy first. These songs are the angriest and catchiest we’ve ever made. We blended everything from rock, nü-metal, hardcore, thrash, hip-hop, electronic, metalcore, and alternative.”
