Canadian deathcore pioneers Despised Icon have announced their long-awaited return with Shadow Work, the band’s seventh studio album and first new music in six years. Due out October 31st via Nuclear Blast, the record is described as a deep, introspective journey into themes of resilience and inner healing—“drawing inspiration from the psychological process of confronting and integrating one’s darker aspects.”
Co-produced by Alex Erian and Eric Jarrin, Shadow Work was mixed and mastered by Christian Donaldson (Cryptopsy) and features cover art by Eliran Kantor. The album also boasts a stacked lineup of guest appearances from Matt Honeycutt (Kublai Khan TX), Scott Ian Lewis (Carnifex), and Tom Barber (Chelsea Grin, Darko).
A music video for the first single is currently in the works.
