Fear Factory guitarist Dino Cazares has shared a public message mourning a fan who was killed in a tragic car accident after attending the band’s recent show in Sydney, Australia.
According to News.com.au, 28-year-old Seamus Duignan attended Fear Factory’s May 22nd concert in Sydney as part of his birthday celebrations. Following the show, Duignan and the Uber driver transporting him home were involved in a fatal high-speed collision after another vehicle reportedly crossed into the wrong lane. The crash ultimately resulted in three fatalities.
After learning of the incident, Cazares posted a video message online expressing condolences on behalf of the band.
“We were deeply saddened to hear about the tragic accident involving one of the fans who attended our Sydney show.”
“Our thoughts and condolences go out to their family, friends, and everyone affected by this loss.”
Cazares also used the statement to encourage fans to stay safe while traveling to and from concerts.
“We’re grateful to everyone who comes out to support Fear Factory around the world, and we simply want to remind everyone to travel safely and look out for one another on the road home.”
He concluded the message by offering support and sympathy to everyone impacted by the tragedy.
“Much respect and sympathy from all of us in Fear Factory.”
