Fear Factory guitarist Dino Cazares has once again shut down speculation surrounding a reunion with former members of the long-running industrial metal outfit, making it clear that the band’s classic-era lineup will not be returning.
As the sole remaining member from the group’s early years, Cazares has continued steering the band forward alongside current vocalist Milo Silvestro, following the contentious 2020 departure of longtime frontman Burton C. Bell. While some fans have continued calling for a reunion online, the guitarist says that chapter of the band’s history is firmly behind him.
Beyond interpersonal tensions, Fear Factory’s past has also been marked by extensive legal disputes over ownership and trademarks — issues that ultimately resulted in Cazares gaining control of the band’s name. Work is now underway on the band’s first studio album without Bell involved, signaling a definitive new era for the group.
Addressing ongoing fan requests via his X account on February 28th, Cazares clarified his stance:
“I don’t hold any hatred toward any former members, but to be clear, I will not be working with them again, I’m sure the feeling is mutual. What’s done is done, and that chapter is permanently closed. I’ve moved forward and remain focused on the present and the future. I sincerely hope they have done the same.”
He later followed up with additional comments explaining why he continues addressing the topic publicly:
“The only reason I continue addressing this is because fans keep asking. I’ve already moved on and have said that many times. Unfortunately, some people get upset if I don’t answer the question and others get upset when I give an honest answer they don’t want to hear.”
With a new lineup established and fresh material currently in development, Cazares appears focused on pushing Fear Factory into its next phase rather than revisiting its past.

It’s dumb af for Dino to keep calling it FF without Burton, but in a way it’s partially Burton’s fault for reuniting with Dino in 2008 in the first place.

Erick D. Miller It’s not dumb. Any band can find a new vocalist and move on, musicians are just people they can be replaced. Hell, I wish Pantera would’ve replaced Phil back in 2002 rather than call themselves Damage Plan and basically start all over. If they would’ve just replaced Anselmo, then Dime probably wouldn’t have been killed!
