Deathcore outfit Distant have premiered a new music video for “Into Despair,” the title track from their upcoming full-length album. The song serves as the final advance single ahead of the record’s November 6 release, with director Jachym Belcher once again stepping behind the camera to bring the band’s latest offering to life.
The group describe the track as one of the most personal moments on the album, drawing from the experience of depression and the increasingly overwhelming feeling of losing your way.
“‘Into Despair’ is the title track and one of the most personal songs on the album. It’s about depression and the feeling of spiraling deeper and deeper into a place where you can no longer see a way out. We wanted the song to capture that experience from the inside rather than explain depression from an outside perspective. It’s about being trapped in your own mind, watching yourself sink further, and wondering whether there will ever be a way back.”
The new album also features an extensive collection of guest appearances from across the heavy music scene. Among those lending their voices to the record are Darius Tehrani of Spite, Kyle Medina of Bodysnatcher, Ricky Myers of Suffocation, Tyler Beam of The Last Ten Seconds Of Life, and Skyler Conder, known for his work with Varials and CELL.
Distant will take the new material on the road later this month with a North American headlining tour. Heavy//Hitter, Katywentmissing, Torn Open and Squelching will provide support across the run, with additional dates featuring Bodysnatcher, PSYCHO-FRAME, Volatile Ways and Implosive Disgorgence.
