A police investigation has been launched after footage appearing to show a couple engaged in a sexual act aboard the Ferris wheel at this past weekend’s Download Festival began circulating online.
According to reports, the incident took place on the evening of June 13th, shortly before Guns N’ Roses took the stage for their headlining performance.
A spokesperson for Leicestershire Police confirmed that authorities are aware of the footage and are working alongside festival organizers to identify those involved.
“Officers are aware of a video on social media concerning two people acting inappropriately while on a Ferris wheel at Download this weekend. The incident is currently being investigated and officers are in contact with the organisers of the festival.
Enquiries in relation to this are ongoing and police are working to identify and speak to the people involved. Anyone with information is asked to report online at www.leics.police.uk – quoting crime reference 26*346427.”
Footage and images from the incident have circulated across social media, prompting the ongoing investigation. No arrests have been announced as of this writing.
