Drain Raise Nearly $40,000 For Immigrant Families Through Limited Anti-ICE Charity Shirt

Hardcore outfit Drain have turned a merch drop into meaningful action, raising nearly $40,000 for immigrant families through a limited-run charity campaign.

Late last month, the California band launched a special anti-ICE shirt with all proceeds earmarked for the nonprofit Community Foundation Santa Cruz County (CFSCC). The fundraiser has now officially concluded, with vocalist Sammy Ciaramitaro personally delivering a donation totaling $39,955 to the organization.

According to CFSCC, the funds will directly benefit the Supporting Immigrants In Santa Cruz County Fund, which provides assistance and resources to immigrant families in the region.

Speaking about the effort, Ciaramitaro expressed gratitude for the community support that made the initiative possible:

“I’m thankful I live in a place with helpful people where I can just drop off a check. There aren’t many places that can do this.”

The band reportedly sold roughly 2,000 shirts over a single weekend. The design was produced exclusively for the fundraiser and will not be reprinted, making it a one-time release tied entirely to the donation drive.

Fans who purchased the shirts can expect orders to ship out before the band hits the road for an upcoming tour alongside No Pressure, Haywire, and Secret World.

While charity-driven merch campaigns have become increasingly common within hardcore and punk circles, the response to Drain’s effort highlights how quickly the heavy music community can mobilize around causes important to both artists and fans alike.
