Screamo/post-hardcore supergroup Evil Island have unveiled a new music video for “T-Hexx,” one of the tracks from their newly released debut album, ‘Terraform The Afterlife.’
The song features a particularly notable guest appearance from Fugazi vocalist Guy Picciotto, marking his first recorded vocal performance since the band’s 2001 album ‘The Argument,’ which arrived in 2001 and was released in 2002.
Evil Island feature current and former members of The Blood Brothers, OFF!, Glassjaw and other acts, with the project’s debut album produced by Ross Robinson (Slipknot, Glassjaw).
Picciotto previously explained how he ended up contributing vocals to “T-Hexx,” revealing that Cody Votolato reached out to him about the project.
“Last November I got a text from Cody Votolato checking in and asking to talk on the phone. I had worked as a producer with Cody and his Blood Brothers compatriots on their last album ‘Young Machetes’ and those guys had become some of the dearest people in the world to me.”
Picciotto said he was surprised to learn that Votolato, Johnny, Mark and Autry had formed a new band and were already working on an album with Robinson.
He was then asked if he would contribute backing vocals to one of the tracks.
“Given that my general attitude vis-a-vis the Blood Brothers is that I would take a bullet for any of them, I felt like I had to at least give it a shot despite not having sung on a recording since the last Fugazi album THE ARGUMENT back in 2002.”
The “T-Hexx” video was directed by Ryan Valdez and Chris Cunningham.
‘Terraform The Afterlife’ was released yesterday, August 13th, through Blowed Out Records, the label co-founded by Ross Robinson, Ghostemane and Bill Armstrong. Robinson also helped facilitate the release of the album.
