Extinction A.D. are switching things up with their latest release, trading an original track for a heavy take on Alice Cooper’s “Feed My Frankenstein.” The crossover outfit have been steadily rolling out new music throughout 2026, and their latest offering arrives just in time for the Halloween season.
Originally made famous by Cooper in the early ’90s, “Feed My Frankenstein” also earned a lasting place in pop culture through its appearance in the comedy classic ‘Wayne’s World’. Now, Extinction A.D. have given the track their own spin, with a newly released lyric video accompanying the cover.
Vocalist and guitarist Rick Jimenez explained that the song had been a running joke among the band for years before they finally decided to make it a reality as part of their monthly single rollout.
“I’m sure every band has spent hours in the van BS-ing about, ‘wouldn’t it be cool if we covered THIS song?’ Anytime we’ve done that, ‘Feed My Frankenstein’ would come up half as a gag. We all grew up with and love the movie ‘Wayne’s World’ that this song appears in and the placement of it in that movie is rad. Once this ‘one single a month’ idea came up, we knew we wanted to do a cover for October in the spirit of Halloween and we humped at making this the choice after years of joking about it. Adding a bit of our flavor to this song with the heaviness of the guitars and my spin vocally, while adding the keyboards in a faithful way was absolutely ridiculous and super fun. So much of what we do musically is deadly serious so it was enjoyable to do something purely lighthearted.”
The band’s rendition keeps the original’s playful spirit while adding heavier guitars, Jimenez’s distinctive vocal approach and faithful keyboard elements. For a group whose material often leans into more serious territory, the cover offered an opportunity to have some fun with a longtime favorite.
