After sitting dormant for roughly a decade, Extreme Thing is officially set to make its return to Las Vegas in 2027.
The festival will celebrate its 25th anniversary on March 20, 2027, with the Events Center at Desert Breeze serving as the venue for its comeback. Historically, Extreme Thing has combined extreme sports with punk, hardcore and metal, establishing itself as a fixture of Las Vegas’ alternative culture.
Festival organizer Brian Saliba is looking to carry that legacy into the next era, saying:
“Extreme Thing has always been more than a festival, it’s a piece of Las Vegas history. Bringing it back for the 25th anniversary means reuniting the generations who grew up with Extreme Thing, while introducing an entirely new generation to the music, energy, and culture that made it a Las Vegas icon.”
The musical lineup for the 2027 edition has not yet been announced. Blackpath Booking will reportedly be handling the festival’s booking, bringing an established presence in the hardcore and metal communities into the equation.
Previous editions of Extreme Thing featured performances from artists including Avenged Sevenfold and Bring Me The Horizon, among others, giving the festival a history of attracting some significant names from the heavy music world.
There may already be some clues regarding who could appear on the 2027 bill, too.
Three different members of Las Vegas-based metalcore outfit The Ghost Inside have commented on the social media post announcing the festival’s return. Nothing has been confirmed regarding an appearance from the band, but the simultaneous interest from multiple members is certainly enough to raise some eyebrows.
For now, however, fans will have to wait for the official lineup announcement to find out who will be joining Extreme Thing for its long-awaited return.
