Fimbul Winter (Ex-Amon Amarth Members) Debut New Single “Crowned In Ash”

Swedish death metal project Fimbul Winter, featuring several former members of Amon Amarth, have released a new single titled “Crowned In Ash.”

The band brings together vocalist Clint Williams of Nemesium alongside former Amon Amarth members Anders Biazzi, Fredrik Andersson, and Niko Kaukinen, continuing a lineup rooted in Sweden’s melodic death metal scene.

The new track follows their debut EP ‘What Once Was’, which was released earlier this past November, and continues the band’s exploration of heavy, atmospheric death metal themes.

Speaking about the single, the band described “Crowned In Ash” as a reflection on suffering, endurance, and the cost of survival.

“‘Crowned In Ash’ is about enduring pain and suffering that nearly destroys you and emerging from it stronger than before.”

They further explained the track’s central metaphor, focusing on the idea that victory can come at an unexpected emotional cost.

“Once you reach the other side, you realize the victory you were chasing was never what you expected. The ‘crown’ turned out to be made of ash, and the true price was simply surviving the journey itself.”

Fimbul Winter continues to position itself as a new force within the Scandinavian death metal landscape, blending veteran musicianship with a darker thematic approach for this latest release.
