Veteran nü-metal outfit Flaw are officially back in the studio. The Louisville-bred band recently shared a glimpse into their current recording sessions, marking a significant new chapter for the group following a tumultuous few years. This upcoming material arrives as frontman Chris Volz celebrates a major personal milestone, having embarked on a journey to sobriety this past October.
The band’s return to the studio follows a period of transition, including their departure from the Nu Metal Revival Tour earlier in 2025 due to lineup challenges.
Flaw Focuses on New Material for 2026 Release
With the band now firmly focused on the future, Volz expressed his excitement on social media, indicating that the wait for new music is nearly over. The sessions appear to be the culmination of a productive writing period that the band hinted at earlier in the year.
“It’s getting close to that time again folks! Can’t wait for you all to hear these new tunes!!!”
This new effort will be the band’s first major output since 2022’s covers project, Revival, and follows their last full-length album of original material, 2019’s Vol. IV: Because of the Blood. With Volz now focused on his health and sobriety, the upcoming tracks are expected to lean into the raw, emotional storytelling that defined the band’s platinum-selling debut, Through the Eyes.
Upcoming 2026 Tour Dates
While the band is prioritizing studio time, they have already begun locking in select dates for 2026, including a high-profile festival appearance:
- Feb 13: Fort Wayne, IN @ Piere’s Entertainment Center
- May 15: Columbus, OH @ Sonic Temple Art + Music Festival
- May 16: Westland, MI @ The Token Lounge
