From Ashes To New Reveal New Album ‘Reflections’, Debut “Villain” Music Video

From Ashes To New have officially announced their next full-length album, ‘Reflections’, and have unveiled its latest single, “Villain,” alongside a new music video.

The gold-certified Lancaster, Pennsylvania nü-metal outfit will release Reflections on April 17th via Better Noise Music. “Villain” marks the third single to be released from the record and showcases the band leaning deeper into their darker, emotionally charged songwriting.

Frontman Matt BrandyBerry explained the song’s meaning, stating that it explores the pull of temptation and self-sabotage:

“‘Villain’ is a story about the magnetic pull between two people who know better, but dive in anyway. It’s the moment when desire outweighs consequences, when you choose the chaos you swear you shouldn’t want, and the ‘bad guy’ becomes the one voice you can’t quiet. The song leans into that dark, intoxicating tension where temptation feels like truth, danger feels like comfort, and the line between thrill and destruction disappears. It’s not about saving each other…it’s about surrendering to the part of yourself you pretend doesn’t exist.”

BrandyBerry also served as a co-director for the accompanying music video. According to the band, Reflections represents a creative reset. After completing 16 demo tracks, the group opted to scrap the sessions entirely and rebuild the album from the ground up, retaining only two songs from the original batch.

“I wanted to take what we are good at and push it even further,” BrandyBerry said of the process. “That was the approach for the entire record.”
