Frozen Soul have canceled their planned August tour with Bodybox, Maul, and Eternal following a series of devastating losses within the band’s families.
The Texas death metal band announced the cancellation through guitarist Chris Bonner, who shared a statement on July 14 explaining that the group made the difficult decision after losing multiple family members.
Bonner revealed that vocalist Chad Green lost his father in May while the band was on tour, and drummer Matt Dennard recently lost his father unexpectedly on July 10.
“We have never canceled a tour before in our existence as a band but recently we have suffered some devastating losses in our families and we made the difficult decision to cancel our August tour next month.”
The guitarist explained that the band took time to discuss whether they could continue with the planned dates but ultimately decided it was best to step away and spend time with their families.
“Right now we decided it would be best to take some extra time off to be with our families and help navigate these terrible losses.”
Frozen Soul also confirmed that their upcoming show at Division Brewing will still take place and teased that the band has another tour announcement planned for later this year.
