Graveyard are preparing to begin a new chapter as guitarist and vocalist Jonatan Larocca-Ramm has officially announced his departure from the Swedish blues rock band after nearly two decades.
The news arrives just months before the release of the band’s upcoming seventh studio album, ‘Fever’, which is scheduled to arrive on October 9 via Nuclear Blast.
Larocca-Ramm shared the news in a lengthy statement on June 30, explaining that the decision came after reflecting on both his personal life and creative ambitions.
“After nearly 20 years with Graveyard, I have decided that it is time for me to leave the band.
Twenty years is a long time. Long enough for a band to become more than music. It becomes a way of life, a shared language, and a huge part of your identity. For that reason, this has been one of the most difficult decisions I have ever made.
I am incredibly proud of what we built together and of the music we created over the years. What started as a handful of ideas and ambitions grew into something that reached people all over the world, and I will always be grateful to have been part of that journey.
But time changes everything. People change. Priorities change. And sometimes the things that once held a group together begin to pull in different directions.
For some time now, I have felt a growing need to reconnect with what music means to me personally — the creativity, freedom, and sense of purpose that inspired me in the first place. Stepping away feels like the right decision, both as a musician and as a person.
My focus now will be on my family, my children, and on finding new ways to create and express myself. Music will remain a central part of my life, and I look forward to following that path wherever it leads.
I sincerely wish the band the very best in the future.
And to all of you who listened, came to the shows, sang along, traveled far, bought records, and supported us through all these years thank you. It’s hard to put into words what it means to know that our music became a part of your lives.
Your energy, love, and support carried us farther than we ever could have imagined. From the bottom of my heart — thank you for everything.”
The remaining members of Graveyard also issued a statement thanking Larocca-Ramm for his contributions while confirming the band will continue moving forward.
“Hey everyone, we have some news to share.
Jonatan has decided to leave Graveyard.
We’ve shared so many years, experiences and memories together, and while we’re saddened by his decision, we fully respect it and wish him nothing but the very best in whatever comes next for him.
As one chapter comes to a close, another begins. Our new album is on its way and we’re looking forward to getting back on the road and seeing you all again soon!
Graveyard will keep moving forward, and we’re incredibly grateful for your continued love and support. We’ll see you out there!”
Although Larocca-Ramm is stepping away from the group, Graveyard will continue with plans to release ‘Fever’ this October before returning to the road in support of the new record.
