Grindmother — the 77-year-old grindcore trailblazer who first broke into the extreme music world at the age of 65 — will return for two final live performances this December. These farewell sets will take place as part of Cattle Decapitation’s No Fear For Tomorrow Tour.
These shows will mark the end of an unlikely yet legendary run for Grindmother, who steps away from the stage after a seven-year hiatus and amid her ongoing battle with dementia.
Joining Grindmother for these performances will be her son and longtime musical partner Rayny Forster (Moshpit Tragedy, Corrupt Leaders), alongside Topon Das and Mathieu “Vil” Vilandré (both of Fuck The Facts).
Also appearing on the bill are Cattle Decapitation, Aborted, Frozen Soul, and Tribal Gaze.
Rayny Forster shared the following on these farewell shows:
“We wanted her to have a proper farewell for the fans she loves more than anything. We’re beyond thankful to Travis Ryan and Cattle Decapitation for the opportunity to bring her in front of such a large audience. And of course, to our fellow Canadian grindcore family in Fuck The Facts who have graciously accepted the call. This will be a great celebration.”
“These will be her final live appearances, but it won’t be the last you’ll hear from us. We’re working on new music, and there’s a lot more to come.”
Confirmed dates:
12/05 Montreal, QC – Club Soda
12/06 Toronto, ON – The Concert Hall
