GWAR Cover Chappell Roan’s “Pink Pony Club” For A.V. Undercover Series

Shock-rock titans GWAR have released a cover of Chappell Roan’s 5x platinum 2020 hit single “Pink Pony Club”, marking the band’s seventh appearance on The A.V. Club’s ‘A.V. Undercover’ series.

Editor-in-Chief Danette Chavez of The A.V. Club praised the collaboration:

“As we put together the song list for A.V. Undercover season 10, we knew this iconic pairing had to happen. I can’t think of a better way to celebrate this landmark season of Undercover than seeing GWAR on the stage in their heels and hooves, singing ‘Pink Pony Club.’”

Frontman The Berzerker Blöthar explained the meaning behind the track in GWAR’s signature irreverent style:

“‘Pink Pony Club‘ is about embracing exile from a boring, shitty world and remaking yourself into whatever you want—be who you are, be who you aren’t, piss people off, we don’t care!”

This cover coincides with GWAR’s ongoing tour alongside Soulfly and King Parrot, hitting venues across the U.S.
