Paramore vocalist Hayley Williams launched her latest solo tour with a hometown surprise, bringing out fellow Georgia musician Josh Scogin (‘68, ex-The Chariot) during last night’s (March 27th) opening show at The Tabernacle in Atlanta, GA.
Williams has built a reputation for crossing genre lines throughout her career, frequently sharing stages with artists spanning alternative rock, hardcore, and metal — including past appearances alongside Deftones, Turnstile, and members of Failure. That collaborative spirit continued during the tour’s opening night when she closed the set with an unexpected guest performance.
Near the finale of “Parachute,” a track taken from her solo release ‘Ego Death At A Bachelorette Party’, Scogin joined Williams onstage to deliver guest vocals during the song’s climactic closing section. The appearance marked a fitting hometown crossover moment, pairing two influential figures from Georgia’s alternative and heavy music scenes.
Scogin, best known for his work with chaotic metalcore pioneers The Chariot and his current noise rock project ’68, added a raw intensity to the performance, contrasting Williams’ melodic delivery with his signature abrasive vocal style. Fans in attendance quickly shared footage online following the performance, capturing the crowd’s reaction to the unexpected collaboration.
Fan-filmed clips of the moment have since begun circulating online, offering an early glimpse at what could become a recurring highlight of Williams’ current solo run.
