HER LAST SIGHT Cancel Germany Tour Following Backlash Over Anti-LGBTQ Post

Israeli metalcore band Her Last Sight have cancelled their upcoming Germany tour following backlash over a social media post from one of their members. Guitarist Ofek shared an Instagram Reel asserting that there are only two genders and included language widely criticized as ableist. The band has previously faced criticism for anti-Palestinian remarks.

The band released a statement addressing the cancellation:

“To our fans, friends, and everyone who has been supporting us – It truly pains us to share that our upcoming tour in Germany has been cancelled. Over the past days, a very small but loud group of people chose to misinterpret a reel posted by one of our members and build a false narrative about who we are. Instead of communicating or asking a single question, they opted for outrage and public pressure. As a result, opening acts and most of the venues backed out and cancelled the events without speaking to us, forcing the cancellation of the tour.

Let us be absolutely clear: Her Last Sight has never belonged to any social ideology, movement, or agenda. We do not push narratives, divide people, or attack any community. We are musicians. We create art. We use humor (sometimes bold, sometimes self-ironic) to entertain—never to harm, never to exclude. If someone chose to feel offended by content that was clearly comedic, that was never our intention.

The accusations made against us are false assumptions amplified by a minority that thrives on outrage. We are disappointed to see decisions made out of fear, not truth; noise, not facts. It’s concerning when people decide who you are simply because you don’t align with their viewpoint, and then call that the truth. That’s not how artists, people, and communities should act. This situation is bigger than one tour. This is about the freedom to create, to joke, to express, without being targeted by people who believe disagreement makes you the enemy.

We believe in creativity, humor, dialogue, and the idea that different views can coexist without destroying each other. Cancel culture does the opposite—it silences, divides, and punishes expression rather than fostering understanding. This time, it’s just cancelled shows. In darker moments of history, it became much worse, and that should concern all of us. Today, it has prevented thousands of real fans from experiencing shows that were built with passion, time, and love.

To everyone who bought tickets, supported us, defended us, and continued believing in us even while this was happening—thank you. Your loyalty means everything to us. Every ticket will be fully refunded through the platform it was purchased from. We are deeply sorry to those who planned to be there. We wanted nothing more than to share those nights with you. Hope we’ll meet you soon.”
