Holy Wars Share In-Studio Performance Of Nine Inch Nails’ “Hurt”

Holy Wars have unveiled a new in-studio performance, taking on Nine Inch Nails’ iconic track “Hurt.” Originally appearing as the closing song on the band’s landmark 1994 album ‘The Downward Spiral’, the track has become one of the most enduring pieces in modern alternative and industrial music history.

The song famously found a second life years later through Johnny Cash’s multi-platinum reinterpretation, and it continues to inspire artists across genres. Most recently, progressive metal outfit Between The Buried And Me offered their own take on the track.

While Holy Wars have previously performed “Hurt” live, today’s release (December 16th) marks the band’s first official in-studio rendition. The stripped-back performance leans into the song’s emotional weight, offering a stark and intimate take on a song that has proven timeless across multiple generations of heavy music.
